Who We Are
Friends of the Capital Crescent Trail is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving park land, open space and quality of life in Montgomery County, Maryland.
The most critical threat we face today is the estimated $1.9 billion Purple Line project.
As currently planned, the Purple Line would bulldoze a three-mile section of the Capital Crescent Trail, clear-cut 20 acres of forested park land and replace the trail with a shade-less strip of asphalt next to a double-tracked rail line underneath high voltage electrical wires.
But this can be stopped!
